In warfare tactics are everything. You could be outnumbered, you could be out gunned, but if you have tactics your victory is assured. No one does it better then Szu The Art of War.
The high ground is often thought of as a meme. In warfare though it can be difference between success and failure. Why is the high ground important though? The high ground is important because when you have the high ground your opponent must come to you. your adversary must climb up hill slowing them down. The high ground gives you better sight lines to be able to observe the battlefield. This enhanced ability gives you the edge in your O.O.D.A
